This is one of those posts that could have landed in a few sections of the site, but I settled for ‘style’ as I suppose that’s what the Three Stripe's clip is really about. It’s essentially a glorified advert for the new Nigo drop with Adidas Originals (Yes, another Adidas post) where the team links up the man with rising UK grime artist, Stormzy. Last summer’s Nigo Duppy freestyle was an ode of sorts to their last outing.
This short film sees Stormzy and Nigo connect in Tokyo to shoot the SS16 campaign interspersed with some short performance clips and show footage. The videography is definitely on point and the narrative gets you a little more invested than your regular lookbook effort. Stormzy shows a pretty grounded sense of humility here stating that “There’s millions of people in this country who have not got a clue who I am, so I can’t get lost in my bubble…” before playing to a packed crowd chanting his lyrics back to him. Definitely worth a watch. If you want to check out the lookbook, it’ll be online tomorrow, March 23.
