My Gather
Today, I am pleased to introduce you all to Gather. I’ll be curating all of this week on the site/app alongside founder, Phil Harrison. Gather is a utility app I didn’t know I needed pretty much. Especially with the way I like to consume content online. It allows you to easily save all of your media, both audio and video, from any source, in one place. At times whilst I’m browsing, I’ll have a tonne of tabs open. It’s force of habit. Segmenting things off and implementing some sort of order upon the sea of media I digest daily.
I’m not saying I still don’t do that by any means. However, with Gather, the immediacy of storing something I really enjoy, whether it’s a Soundcloud mix or a Youtube short series is awesome. I know I can always jump in and find it again, building a library of content that would otherwise disappear into the digital ether. It’s pretty simple to boot. Like something, copy the URL on your phone or desktop and paste it into Gather where it auto-generates pertinent information, allowing you to place it into your desired category.
The element of exploration and social connection is handled with the familiar “like” and “follow”. If you want to get on board, head to your appropriate app store and search “My Gather”. From there, you can search “deadbeatcreative” and give us a follow. We’ve already added some content including a couple of Loft Talks, Noisey’s latest “Bompton” series and a few of our own SoundCloud mixes. Cheers for reading and checking it out.
