Shlohmo : Dark Red (Back To Work)

Yesterday was a strange one. I felt obliged to do some work and had the desire to search out some new music. There was a sprinkling of procrastination and watching the football in there at the same time. The festive period is confusing. So anyway, that’s what I did. I decided to ease myself in by framing up a good buddy’s print purchase from Christmas day. You can find those here.

The process started out really well. I was working on a pattern to cover the frame when disaster struck. The paint marker leaked all over the piece and ruined it. In my attempt to salvage it, I blacked out the frame and roughly sanded it down creating what you see documented below. Chuffed to say the least after the hefty list of swear words I waded through in ruining the initial design. The customer is happy with it too and that’s the main thing. If you want a custom frame, pick that option in the basket and send through an idea of what you’d like.

Now to the music. Los Angeles producer Shlohmo came through with EP, “Dark Red (Remixes)”. The super digestible four track mix provided the soundtrack to my work yesterday. Press play for contributions from Chet Faker, Baauer, Jim E-Stack and Jacques Greene. If you want more Shlohmo, check this Post Malone song he produced that dropped a couple of days ago and this Boiler Room mix from a few years back is good to work to. (Just don’t watch the video, it’s horrendous) Cheers for reading. Throw any music suggestions you have in the comments. I started sampling the new Cage The Elephant album, Tell Me I'm Pretty, this morning. Going down a treat.
